MealMaker ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Leon Frederick Tranter, a sole trader based in New South Wales, Australia. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information when you use the MealMaker website and app at mealmaker.com.au (the "Service").
If you have questions about this policy or your personal information, contact us at privacy@mealmaker.com.au.
We collect the following personal information when you use the Service:
Account information — your email address and a securely hashed password when you register. We never store your password in plain text.
Dietary and preference information — dietary preferences, restrictions, and tags you provide (for example vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free, allergies). Some of this may constitute sensitive information (including health information) under the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). We only collect it with your consent, given by entering it into the Service, and only use it to generate and tailor your meal plans.
Meal plan and usage data — the meal plans you generate, meals you swap or reject, plans you confirm, and shopping lists created from those plans.
Technical data — basic log and device data (such as IP address and browser type) generated automatically when you use the Service, for security and troubleshooting purposes.
We do not currently collect payment information, as MealMaker does not process payments.

We do not use this information for marketing or share it with third parties for their own purposes.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may disclose personal information to:
Your information is stored on servers located in the United States (Boston, Massachusetts), operated by our hosting provider, Hostinger International Limited. We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, including password hashing and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will make best efforts to delete or de-identify your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.
You can access and update most of your information directly within the Service. You may also contact us at privacy@mealmaker.com.au to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the Service securely. We do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
MealMaker is intended for use by adults managing meal planning for themselves and their households. If you enter dietary information about children in your household, you do so as the responsible adult account holder; we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
If we experience a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first at privacy@mealmaker.com.au so we can try to resolve it. You may also lodge a complaint with the OAIC at oaic.gov.au.
